The interior of the new Mahindra XUV700 could feature the same triple-screen setup as the XEV 9e. It could also feature a premium Harman Kardon audio system, auto-dimming IRVMs, and a BYOD feature for rear-seat entertainment.
Mahindra & Mahindra recently trademarked the name ‘XUV7XO’, which could be used for the XUV700 facelift, expected to launch in January 2026. A similar rebranding strategy was adopted for the Mahindra XUV300 facelift in 2024, which was introduced as the XUV 3XO. The Mahindra XUV7XO (XUV700 facelift) is expected to feature design and feature changes compared to the current model. However, the engine setup is expected to be carried forward.

Design: A Heartbreaker
One thought comes to mind when you see the XUV7XO: “It’s a mini version of the XUV700, but even sharper and more modern!” At the front, the integrated headlamps with new C-shaped LED DRLs, the rising hood, and the new signature grille, finished in gloss black with chrome accents, all combine to create a face that shines even at night.
From the side, the 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, muscular wheel arches, and the rising window line give it a very aggressive look. At the rear, there are new integrated LED tail lamps, inspired by the XUV700, but with a new 3D pattern. Overall, even at just under 4.4 meters in length, the vehicle looks powerful enough to outshine the likes of the Creta, Seltos, and Grand Vitara.
2026 Mahindra XUV700 Facelift
Most of the design changes are expected to be at the front. The 2026 Mahindra XUV700 facelift, or XUV7XO, is expected to feature a redesigned grille and twin-pod headlamps, a new bumper, and a new LED DRL signature. However, the sheet metal on the doors, bonnet, and fenders will remain unchanged. The SUV will come with newly designed, aero-optimized alloy wheels. At the rear, it is likely to feature a new connected lighting signature that creates a full-width light bar, along with a tweaked bumper.
Triple Screen Setup
The interior of the new Mahindra XUV700 is expected to feature the same triple screen setup as the XEV 9e. It could also feature a premium Harman Kardon audio system, auto-dimming IRVMs, and a BYOD feature for rear-seat entertainment. It remains to be seen whether Mahindra will replace physical buttons with a touch panel.

Mahindra XUV7XO Engine
The 2026 Mahindra XUV700 or XUV7XO is expected to retain the existing engine lineup, which includes a 2.0-liter turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel. The petrol engine produces a maximum of 200 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 155 bhp and 360 Nm of torque and 185 bhp and 450 Nm of torque.
Safety: 5-Star Preparation Complete
Mahindra hasn’t skimped on safety. Six airbags are standard (even in the base variant), along with ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold, hill descent control, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchors—everything. The top-of-the-line AX7 and AX7L variants also get Level-2 ADAS—features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring. It’s highly likely to receive a 5-star rating from Global NCAP.
Mahindra XUV7XO Two Gearbox Options
The SUV lineup will continue to come with two gearbox options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel-automatic variants will be exclusively available with an AWD (all-wheel drive) system.m
